The Janus face of Newtonian physics: the lecture in Skalský Dvůr
The article as a document presents an authorized transcript of a lecture given by the historian of astronomy Zdeněk Horský (1929–1988) at the opening ceremony of the seminar dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the first publication of the founding work of modern natural science by Isaac Newton, Philosophiae naturalis principia mathematica, on 15 September 1986. The new edition of the lecture is accompanied by an editorial commentary by Tomáš Hermann.
